After we took a look at the features, lets move on.
Getting Started With PureVPN
First of all, i got to say that they have a very cool installation process 🙂 its all animated. After the installation is done, you will be prompted to input your PureVPN login details.
PureVPN has featured mods for streaming, P2P, maximum privacy and more. Now you will have to choose one. However, you don’t have to worry, due to the simple fact that you can always go back and change it in a second.
In addition to the screenshot provided above, i’m going to explain some actions on this screen:
- Change VPN Mode, In addition, you manage all option from that panel.
- in my opinion, it’s an awesome feature, you can PING a server before you decided if you want to connect to it. Thus, allowing you to pick the best-suited one for you.
- Finally, Every VPN client features a server list. However, In addition to the Country lists, PureVPN offers a City list as well. Resulting in a more pin point accuracy of usage for your needs.
Overall, i would like to point out the fact that PureVPN is better suited for more advanced users. Due to the simple fact that it offers a lot of option configuration. With all of that in mind, it also auto-configures options based on the mode you’ve chosen as displayed below. Sparing you all the configuration.
Moreover, these settings are orientated for advanced users anyway. Let’s get down to the juicy stuff.
1.Streaming Netflix With PureVPN
Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, I couldn’t bypass the NetFlix VPN ban with PureVP. This is contrary to its competitors which do work. You can find them here:
All of the above are tested and work with Netflix(NordVPN, Followed by CyberGhost, and finally, SurfShark).
Moreover, you should know I tried all tweaks, in addition to my best efforts I also tried it on its “FREE INTERNET” mode and “STREAMING” mode. At the time of writing this article. PureVPN doesn’t bypass Netflix.
2.Torrenting With NordVPN
Due to some legalities, I cant publish P2P content here. However, I can say that my experience with PureVPN’s P2P niche wasn’t good. I conducted a test while I was connected to the Netherlands in addition to Germany. I was a bit disappointed. However, you are welcome to try it for yourselves and see if you get better results.
A disclosure before we get to it. My home connection is 100Mb. Furthermore, I am quite far from the United States(overseas far). And finally, you should also know I’m connected via WIFI. My laptop’s usual speed on my home wifi network is about 50Mb. Without further delay, let’s look at the results performed from USA & Germany:
On one hand, Well, I got to be honest, disappointing results with a connection to the US. Slow upload and download speeds compared to its competitors. In addition to that, the website lookup takes ages. Thus, prolonging the time you wait and ultimately, the TTFB (Time To First Byte).
On the other hand, the connection to Germany was a lot better. However, in this category PureVPN’s results are still lower when compared to its competitors.
Despite all of its disadvantageous, PureVPN is decent low-mid end VPN client. However, if you can spare a few more bucks i would go for NordVPN, CyberGhost or Surfshark.
